Team for Wolves
As I said last week, our ongoing poor form means that the side no longer "picks itself" in the way it did earlier in the season. That makes these threads a bit more interesting, with much more disagreement about who should be in or out of the side.

RB continues to be an issue. Coufal is reported to be 50/50 for this one, so I expect Johnson to get the nod.

In midfield, many have been calling for Soucek to be given a rest, which basically amounts to a polite way of calling for him to be dropped. He does seem a shadow of the player who made such an impact last season, but what's the alternative? Lanzini dropping back or bringing in Kral might be solutions, but I am unconvinced by either. Such is our shallow squad that we are left just hoping that he can find some form, and the same goes for Antonio.

Which two out of Lanzini, Fornals, Benrahma and Vlasic will no doubt generate some discussion. I was surprised by how many were positive about Benrahma's performance last week. Yes, he did look fairly lively, but for me, he flatters to deceive, losing possession far too cheaply and frequently. I would have him as an impact sub.

PLEASE DROP ANTONIO

Johnson at RB
Lanzini the midfielder to miss out. I think Fornals pushes Lanzini out, as Fornals has been making some great passes through from midfield and takes center midfield.

Agree with Darby that we need a change of shape as clearly its not working at the moment.

I would rather go 4 4 2

Fab

Vlasic Antonio

Similar personel but put someone next to Antonio for support. Fornals works hard so can protect Cresswell.

Against wolves we need to hold the ball. Its that simple. Rather play a back 5 and all ball playing mid/forwards.

Not convinced with Soucek/Fornals or Antonio's form at the moment.

Re: Team for Wolves
If Antonio has to play then a change of formation is needed.

We cant keep going out with the same team/line up and expecting our form to appear once again out of nowhere.

Don’t reckon Yarmo will be in the right state of mind to play this one given what’s going on in his native country ☹️

Re: Team for Wolves
4-3-3 albeit 1 of the middle 3 anchoring. Rice would be best at that as Soucek struggles for pace. blternative would be Rice in the Soucek role, drop Soucek and then ask Lanzini to anchor more although he lacks physicality / height. Anyway, main aim is to have better technical players to ensure we retain the ball better. Vlasic would tuck in the "pockets" behind 2 up front as part of the 3 but also look to get on the end of things when possible like Gundawan does for City. Easy this management malarky ( on paper ;-) ).

Re: Team for Wolves
Crossed Hammers - if you care to look back at last week's thread, you'll see that I had a very specific reason for picking Fredericks, and it seems like Moyes was thinking the same way. You see, some of us think tactically and don't always put the same duds in our sides week after week. Talking of which, what a relief it must be for you to have an excuse for not picking Yarmolenko this week.

Interesting - so far the majority would drop Antonio.

Re: Team for Wolves
A draw would be a good result atm, I can’t see us laying a glove on em tbh. I’d match em up in system though. Gotta try an get 2 up top cos Antonio way he is playing won’t trouble their defence.
